2018 Pinot Noir – Library ReleaseRed Wine
This wine was done in a classic 100% whole bunch style where the grapes are fermented still attached to the stems, giving it a notably paler colour. The nose explodes with big whole bunch fruitiness, baked cherry pie, orange rind and spicy notes of cardamom and peppercorns from the stems. The palate is fresh and vibrant even after 18 months in neutral French oak barriques. Sour cherry and licorice start things off while the finish shows Campari-like hints of orange bitters and sweet herbal spicy notes. The wine has a big mouth-filling profile but supple tannins make it easy drinking.
